Astro Max is Freefly’s compact industrial drone platform. The new Max variant features upgraded motors and props to enable a new max payload of 3kg. The blue model has pre-approved hardware and software making it both NDAA compliant and DIU Blue approved.

New Astro Max Motor
The 7010 motor is designed to be much more failsafe and reliable than the older F45 motor used on the original Astro. Some key features of the 7010:
- More sealed design (less chance of debris in the top of the motor)
- Larger bearings
- Much larger 70x10mm stator for better heat dissipation and max power
- Active cooling through motor bell design with built in fan
- Dual fasteners on shaft
- Much larger shaft
- Mechanically captured bearings with preload
- Much cooler operating point
